Wood Mosaic Stain Planner with Minwax Colors

Plan a stained wood mosaic before opening the first can of stain. The Minwax Stain Planner loads a mosaic SVG, detects individual pieces and shared boundaries, and assigns selected stain colors while keeping matching stains off shared edges whenever the palette allows it.

Built for real mosaic and fabrication workflows

Choose from the built-in Minwax stain library, build a custom palette, balance the amount of each stain across the design and preview the finished layout. The tool works with straight-line MosaicGenny generators and the curved path output from the Curved Mosaic Generator.

How to use it

Upload the SVG, select the stains you actually have or plan to use, run the adjacency-aware assignment and fine-tune the palette if needed. Optional numbering can be included in the preview and exported SVG. The CSV output groups tile numbers by stain so you can create shop stacks and finish pieces in batches.

Common questions

Does the planner use real Minwax stain names?

Yes. The tool includes a built-in Minwax stain palette library so you can plan around named stain options.

Can it create a sorting list for the shop?

Yes. The CSV export groups numbered tiles by assigned stain to simplify batch finishing and assembly.
